NYCSCA Capital Improvements

NYCSCA

Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn & Staten Island, NY
Since 1996

Since 1996, Goshow Architects has been awarded consecutive Capital Improvement Project (CIP) contracts by the New York City School Construction Authority (NYCSCA). To date, we have worked on more than 90 schools in New York City, with projects totaling over $280 million in construction cost.

The firm’s scope-of-work has included exterior modernizations to roofs, parapets, exterior walls, windows, entrances, and retaining walls; interior renovations including science laboratory upgrades, classroom modernizations, restroom renovations, and floor replacements; as well as upgrades to lighting and power distribution, technology, fire protection/life safety, HVAC and MEP systems. Our work on several landmarked school buildings has required coordination with NY State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO).

Additionally, we have developed plans for specialty spaces including gymnasiums, cafeterias, libraries, science, and computer labs, as well as Hurricane Sandy repairs.
